Electroencephalogram (EEG)

 

This is a test of your balance or vestibular system. Your eye movements are the objective measure of dizziness, vertigo or imbalance. The test is performed with goggles that have infra-red cameras inside and magnify and record your eye movements during the test.

EMG & Nerve Conduction Studies

 

EMG & Nerve Conduction Studies is used to evaluate the Nervous System.  Carpal Tunnel symptoms of numbness, tingling, and weakness are associated with the Peripheral Nervous System. Peripheral Neuropathy, Myopathy, Radiculopathy, or Plexopathy are a few possible diagnosis’s associated with these symptoms. 

 

Do not put any lotions or soap 1 day prior to exam.

Videonystagmography (VNG)

Transcranial Doppler (TCD)

 

A Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is a safe, painless test that evaluates the blood flow to and in your brain. This test uses high frequency sound waves that bounce off blood vessels. Analyzing this information helps the doctor identify any problems that might prevent oxygen from reaching your brain.

Carotid Artery Ultrasound 

 

Carotid ultrasound uses sound waves to produce pictures of the carotid arteries in the neck which carry blood from the heart to the brain. A Doppler ultrasound study, which is part of this test, is a technique that evaluates blood flow through a blood vessel.

BOTOX® Injections for Chronic Migraines

 

Botox has been approved by FDA to treat chronic migraine headaches in adults. 

 

The FDA concluded Botox injections have been shown to be effective in the prevention of migraines, which are debilitating headaches that cause intense pulsing or throbbing pain and affect about 12% of Americans.

 

Botox to treat chronic migraines is given at intervals of about 12 weeks at multiple injections around the head and neck.  Patients who suffer chronic migraines must discuss with their doctors, whether Botox is appropriate for them.
